ABOUT ABOUT

The darkness of space is coming to life in our upcoming goth-dance event, RAVEYARD. The night is drenched in synth-wave, electronic, dark-wave, and industrial dance music, and promises to be an intoxicating experience. Flickering neon lights and mind-bending visuals will transport you to liquid dystopia. The balance of live bands and DJs spinning their choice of retro and fresh tracks will keep us all panting.

Come get wicked!

Nostalgic, wistful, fierce, and expansive in range, Pilgrims of Yearning’s unique sound has been described as “your soundtrack to introspection, lament, and disdain”, and as an eclectic mix of Post-Punk, French Coldwave, and Latin American influences. They formed in 2018 after lead singer Juls and guitarist Claudio moved to the USA from their hometown in Chile. Their eclectic debut album Forsaken Lands debuted in 2020 along with a series of videos featured in Cvlt Nation and Post-Punk.com. Pilgrims of Yearning has billed with bands like She Past Away, Kaelan Mikla, and Vision Video. They also have had acclaimed participations in major streaming festivals: Gothicat, Lvna Negra, and the Festival Under Latinoamericano among others; and in the first in-person edition of the Dark Spring Boston Festival in May 2022, among bands like Golden Apes, Secret Shame, and Child of Night.

In their most recent EP, Hadal, Juls, and Claudio keep using a Post-Punk baseline, as it offers the band a versatile canvas for experimentation. In this work, however, they explore more electronic sounds, with elements from Darkwave, Synthpop, and Minimal Wave. Other big influences were Latino folk rhythms and Latino alternative rock bands from the 80s/90s. Hadal was chosen as part of the Best of 2022 releases by Post-Punk.com, Sounds and Shadows, and several well-known DJs in the scene. During 2023 they have been touring in the USA and working on their second album, to be released in 2024. They’re also looking forward to their first shows in Europe, which include the Return to the Batcave Festival in Poland.

As the moon waxes on the eve of October 27th, the air will be electrified by the pulsating rhythm of “Techno Love”, a single from CMB ft. NEAREST is a project that dances on the shadowy edges of electronica. This heartfelt offering is also a tribute to the late Casey Grabowski of NEAREST, whose spirit echoes throughout the track. The single is not just a song, but a sensory experience, complete with a music video and remixes by skillful producers such as HELIXHAND, David Anderson Kirk, and Sinking Feeling. This is but a prelude to the spectral dance party, RAVEYARD, that awaits the very next day.

“Techno Love” is the harbinger of an upcoming album, “Casimer”. This album is not just a collection of songs, but a homage to Casey G., whose creative genius permeates every song.

CMB, the creative endeavor of synth sorcerer Casey Desmond, is a voyage into the unexplored realms of electronica, where captivating vocals blend seamlessly with rich, hypnotic patterns. Envision a soundscape where the allure of synth-pop, ethereal voices, and the innovation of experimental music intersect. Add a touch of cryptic artistry to this mix, and you have harmonies that could resonate even with the most futuristic auditory systems and engage listeners in an unforgettable sonic mind-melt.

An ethereal wave of icy, electronic post-punk surrounds Avoxblue, the brainchild of Jimmy Rossi Jr.
Fusing the synthetic, hypnotic sounds of new-wave with the reverb-heavy, and distorted features of shoegaze, Rossi creates an electronic wall of sound. Avoxblue has recently expanded its live lineup to include the incredible Michael Morrissey on drums and André Obin on bass.

DJ André Obin brings us indie dance, minimal wave, classic IDM, UK bass, and other off-world electronic music from the past, present, and future to close out the show.
